Play the role of a musician with a penchant for stealing, who must break an evil sorcerer's spell over the island by using mystical items, powerful weapons, and stunning magic attacks. Wrapped around life, love, and music, the story of Ephemeral Fantasia transports the player to an island of paradise where magical events can happen. * Colorful fantasy environments with dramatic magic spell attacks * Night and day time cycles affect in-game events * Over 160 types of fearsome foes including goblins and dragons * 10 characters with different abilities and characteristics Mouse finds himself strangely drawn to the melancholy of the beautiful young princess and becomes entwined in unexpected intrigue as the game's plot thickens around him. He soon finds that this princess is less than enthusiastic about her impending marriage and he sets himself to uncovering more about the situation. After traveling to an exotic island, Mouse is asked to compose a wedding song for the local princess, a young woman named Loreiyu. He is joined on his quest by the game's other main character, a mystical young woman named Lumi. Mouse must solve a great mystery to set the world right once more. Night changes to day, and back again, and again until the hero gets it right. This means that in order to accomplish certain tasks or meet certain NPC's, the hero must not only have the right items at the right place, but also be there at the right time. In either version, the player takes on the role of a young bard named Mouse and the adventure takes place in real time. The game was released in Japan under the main title Reiselied, which is a German word for "traveling song," with "Ephemeral Fantasia" as the subtitle. As the title might suggest, the fleeting nature of time is an important aspect of gameplay in Ephemeral Fantasia, Konami's first role-playing release for the PS2 console.
